Property developers' confidence is reviving along with housing demand, partly stimulated by attractive interest rates, says Land & Houses president Anant Asavabhokin.
Visits to LH sites were still down but those who did visit were making faster decisions to buy, said the head of the country's biggest residential developer.
As well, the slowdown in new launches has restored balance to the market.
"The number of site visit depends on oil prices," Mr Anant said."Site visit numbers at our projects have dropped by 20-30%."
He said the current number of regis-tered condominiums was higher than that of single houses as condos matched current urban lifestyles. But if and when the full network of mass-transit lines with up to 200 stations is in place,"there will be no need to buy a city condo as you can live on the outskirts".
Borisut Kasinpila, managing director of Home Buyer Guide Co, the organiser of the Home Buyers Expo 2009, said its online survey of consumer demand showed single houses were still popular with 31.5% of total respondents.
The event runs until Sunday at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, with 3 billion baht in sales expected.
